WE
OFFER THE FOLLOWING:
| Composite Fillings |
| |
Now in only one appointment, you can have beautiful
quality ceramic restorations. In the past, silver and gold restorations
have been the choice of dentists. These materials may be long
lasting, but are not very appealing. Composites or tooth-colored
fillings used in the front teeth look good but cannot withstand
biting forces in the back teeth. Ceramic restorations are similar
in hardness to natural tooth structure, but more importantly
resemble your natural tooth. They are bonded to your existing
tooth structure and can reestablish its original strength. No
conventional impression or sensitive temporaries and no multiple
visits are necessary. CEREC ceramic restorations
allow us to provide you with the highest quality esthetic restorations.
An existing new optical scanning procedure is replacing the
conventional dental impression. The CEREC Camera provides a
three dimensional image of the dental preparation with an optical
impression and an inlay, onlay, crown, or veneer can be generated
chairside. We think that this revolutionary dental procedure
will make quite an impression on you. Ceramic restorations are
a perfection in dentistry. |

| Implant Dentistry (Complete treatment
from implant to prosthetic placement) |
| |
Your teeth were designed
to last a lifetime, but sometimes they don't! Replacing missing
teeth is important to your general health and to the health
of your other teeth. Not only do you lose chewing ability
when a tooth is lost, but unreplaced teeth can cause other
teeth to be lost, tipped or crowded and create subsequent
problems. Also, there are the obvious problems of poor appearance
and loss of self-esteem caused by one or more missing teeth.
Dental implants should always
be considered as an option to replace a failing or missing
tooth. Replacement of lost teeth with dental implants has
been used for treating missing teeth for more than 50 years
and is recognized as an effective treatment choice. Treatment
is considered more predictable than bridgework, resin bonded
bridges and endodontic treatment. |

|
| Root Canal Treatment |
| |
Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic
therapy, is probably the most maligned of all dental procedures,
but the reputation of pain typically associated with "having
a root canal" is really not deserved. The majority of
people who have undergone root canal treatment typically report
that the process itself is no more involved than having a
filling placed. Root canal therapy refers to the treatment
of the inner aspects of a tooth, specifically that area inside
a tooth originally occupied by the tooth's "pulp tissue".
Once upon a time, if you had a tooth with a diseased nerve,
you'd probably lose that tooth. Today, with a special dental
procedure called a root canal therapy you may save that tooth.
Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and
nerves to the tooth, it runs like a thread down through the
root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue
dies. If you don't remove it, your tooth gets infected and
you could lose it. After the dentist removes the pulp, the
root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Then your
dentist places a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger.
Most people would probably refer to a tooth's
pulp tissue as its "nerve". While a tooth's pulp
tissue does contain nerve fibers it is also composed of arteries,
veins, lymph vessels, and connective tissue. |

| Wisdom Teeth Removal |
| |
Wisdom teeth cause more problems
than any other tooth in the mouth. They will either partially
break the gum tissue and grow in crooked or remain underneath
the gum. In nine out of ten people, at least one tooth remains
underneath the gum - referred to as an impacted tooth, causing
symptoms of future problems of varying degrees.
"Even if you have no symptoms now, headaches, earaches,
pain in the face, neck, throat and upper and lower teeth can
occur if impacted wisdom teeth are not removed." |
|
|
| Extractions |
| |
You and your dentist may determine that you need
a tooth extraction for any one of a number of reasons. Some
teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed, others
may have advanced periodontal disease ("gum disease"),
or else have broken in a fashion which cannot be repaired. Other
teeth may need removal because they are poorly positioned in
the mouth (such as impacted wisdom teeth), or else in preparation
for orthodontic treatment ("braces"). |
|
|
| Gum Disease Treatment |
| |
Gum disease is the greatest threat to your teeth,
and early treatment is important. By treating gum disease
as soon as it is diagnosed, you can save yourself discomfort
and can increase the odds of keeping your natural teeth. One
of the most common treatments for gum disease is called scaling
and root planing. In this procedure, we remove the tartar
and plaque from your teeth, especially beneath the gum line,
and smooth rough root surfaces. Successful scaling and root
planing may prevent the need for gum surgery later on. |

| Denture |
| |
Missing teeth can cause problems with speech,
chewing, and self-confidence. Dentures can replace missing
teeth and help to alleviate these problems. Best-suited for
those who have lost all or nearly all of their natural teeth,
dentures can improve your ability to speak and eat. Dentures
also greatly improve appearance and may help you feel more
confident. Most people need some time to get used to the feel
of dentures, and we will help you through this transition
time.
We are also able to offer a fantastic new procedure for those
people that find their dentures do not fit well. Mini-implants
or traditional implants are the new standard of care as described
by the American Dental Association. Implants aid in the retention
of dentures and provide better stability. We know that the right
syle of denture can meet both your aesthetic and functional
needs, resulting in better eating. |

| Periodontal Treatment - Gum Surgery,
Bone Regeneration, etc. |
| |
Periodontal disease is a painless, bacterial
infection of the gums that results in the loss of bone that
surrounds and supports your teeth.
One of the first things that happens is a loosening of your
teeth. If left untreated you will most likely lose your teeth. |
|
|
| Bridgework |
| |
When a tooth is lost due to injury, infection,
or another cause, replacing it is of paramount importance. Gaps
left by missing teeth may cause surrounding teeth to shift out
of alignment. Problems with bite and speech can ensue. Exposed
gum tissue may also be susceptible to infection, and the space
left by a missing tooth can significantly detract from a person's
appearance. Bridges are an effective way to replace a missing
tooth. A bridge consists of a replacement crown attached to
two other crowns that can slip over the teeth adjacent to the
gap. Bridges can prevent problems related to missing teeth while
also improving a patient's appearance. |
|
|
| Veneers, Inlays, Onlays, and Crowns |
| |
Natural-looking crowns can restore damaged or
broken teeth. When decay or injury damages a tooth, it is important
to correct the problems as soon as possible. Pain and poor appearance
often accompany tooth damage. Crowns can restore health, strength,
and beauty to your smile. All porcelain crowns provide a realistic
appearance and take just a few short appointments to place.
Even in cases where teeth are not damaged, crowns can be used
to reshape and cosmetically alter your smile. |

| Zoom Bleaching |
| |
Zoom! is a bleaching process that lightens
discoloration of enamel and dentin. The Zoom! Whitening
procedure is simple and painless. It begins with a short preparation
to isolate your lips and gums. The Zoom! clinician then
applies the proprietary Zoom! Whitening Gel, which is
activated by a specially designed light. Teeth typically become
at least six to ten shades whiter, sometimes more. A five minute
fluoride treatment completes the procedure. You'll be amazed
with the results. In most cases, teeth get even whiter the first
few days after the procedure. |

LASER |
|
|
The Waterlase is a powerful tool
that allows many dental procedure to be performed without
the use of drills and needles. Combining the power of laser energy
with atomized water, the Waterlase can remove hard and soft tissue
quickly, effectively, and usually painlessly. The Waterlase eliminates
the heat and vibration that make drilling painful, while offering
greater precision and accuracy.
This procedure can be performed 90% of the time without local anesthetic
and cannot be used on silver fillings or metal crowns
The Waterlase can be used to: |
- Remove decay
- Prepare cavities
- Design smiles
- Perform soft tissue procedures
|
- Remove enamel
- Remove diseased gum tissue
- Avoid the use of needles, drills, and anesthesia

What
is Cerec 3? It is an acronym for Chairside Economical
Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics and is the
latest in state-of-the-art dental technology.
Utilizing an
infrared sensor developed for Desert Storm, the camera takes a 3D
image of a tooth needing a crown or large restoration.
The
computer precisely defines the shape of the final restoration, and
within 15 minutes, robotic arms carve out a ceramic tooth restoration
that can be bonded into place.
Unlike
traditional dentistry, no sensitive and ill-fitting temporaries
are needed, and no second appointment with Novocain is needed
to glue the final tooth. It's precise, convenient, and another difference
provided by McLeod-Pike Dental Group.
